The colors that are used in this picture are basically complementing each other. I have lots different shades of purple and colors. Purple shades are more of cool colors that go with warm colors like orange. Although purple and orange are not the exact complimentary colors they balance out each other. He used the warm color, orange on the places where he wanted to emphasize the lights and used the cool color, purple to bring out the shady parts. The picture, overall, compose fresh feeling by cooperating two pigments from the opposite sides.
